The next morning, after discovering in the middle of the night that my room reservation had been cancelled, I began looking for other accommodations. I began this adventure with much anticipation, as I have watched the Lord so faithfully throughout my life close one door to direct me through another, a much better door. So I told my loving Father that morning that I simply could not wait to find HIS accommodation for me – the room He had booked…..
In October I arrived around midnight at the Damascus Gate to discover my accommodations had been changed, rather, had been cancelled. My only welcoming party that night was the dancing bright lights of a Palestinian restaurant across the street. I sat there alone, bewildered, and cold in this Arab dominated side of the city. It’s certainly not the time nor place for a woman to be wondering where she is going to stay. My bewilderment was compounded by the fact…..
Before I left Rome for Israel, I celebrated Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles/Booths) at the home of dear friends. This fascinating and important Feast was led by messianic rabbi Baruch Rabinowitz (pictured on my left with his family – click). Baruch has a most interesting testimony. Prior to his conversation to Christianity, his first assignment as an ultra-orthodox hassidic rabbi was to convince those Jewish people, who were leaning towards the Love found in Christianity, to return to Judaism. He said…..

In my estimation, the second most important sculpture in Rome is Bernini’s, David, located in Villa Borghese despite the fact that most people seem to be more familiar with Michelangelo’s nonchalant stance of David. However Bernini’s sculpture of David defeating Goliath is so much more powerful and majestic. It both invites and evokes a pensive response. As I stood in Villa Borghese contemplating the intense emotion Bernini portrayed in David’s face, 2 thoughts were brought to my mind about David’s victorious…..
In my last post, I shared with you a wonderful way how we can know we are correctly hearing God’s voice – Jesus will always repeat Himself. “La Vittoria’ turned out to be a very important communication from the Lord as noted in two events that followed the next week: 1) My daughter Victoria called to inform me her vet believes her 3 year old horse, Forest, has uveitis which can lead to blindness. Oh how my heart broke for…..
(Be sure to always click on all pictures) My first day of jet lag in Rome was spent resting beside the Bank of Italy’s beautiful (and enormous) swimming pool. My host was Walter, who had become a dear friend as, together with Stefania, we shared the Lord’s love with young Afghanistan refugees at a train station in Rome many years ago. To listen to these young men tell their stories of witnessing the Taliban murder their families and of their…..
We begin our adventure in Rome… Wherever the Lord wants me to go, He gives me a WONDERFUL home. My hostess in Rome is Stefania (pictured) who is my dear friend and also my translator, chef, chauffeur, historian, social secretary and networker/partner for my missions work in Italy. (My mission is to share Christ’s ministry to the brokenhearted – the unparalleled intimacy of His voice/His Presence, alone.) “To seek Him is the greatest adventure!” (Be sure to always click on…..
